Auditions

Based in Hudson MA and now celebrating its 41st year, Symphony Pro Musica is a high-level, ambitious volunteer community orchestra serving MetroWest and Central MA and conducted by Mark Churchill. SPM is seeking players for the upcoming season! Auditions are being held by arrangement.

SYMPHONY PRO MUSICA INVITES PLAYERS TO AUDITION for the upcoming season.

​

Current openings include:

​

-Clarinet II, Clarinet III/Bass Clarinet

-Bassoon I

-Trumpet II and III

-Bass Trombone

-Percussion

-String players in all sections are very welcome.

-All instruments are very welcome as subs and/or for waitlists.

Concerts will be held on November 4 and 5, January 20 and 21, March 16 and 17, and May 18 and 19. Repertoire for the season includes, Rachmaninoff, Symphony No.2; Bruckner, Symphony No. 5; Brahms, Symphony No. 3; Jessie Montgomery, Starburst; Ravel, Mother Goose Suite; Duke, Ellington River Suite; Smetana, The Moldau; and Zemlinsky, Lustspiel Overture. Concertos include Ibert, Flute Concerto; Walton, Cello Concerto; Mozart, 4th Horn Concerto; and Berg's Seven Early Songs.

Most rehearsals are on Wednesday nights at Hudson High School. 7:15 to 10: Occasional Thursday dress rehearsals and sectional rehearsals on Monday evenings. 

Concert Warm-Up

Warm-ups are generally scheduled for one and one-half hours before each concert. Details are announced at dress rehearsals, and will be posted on the SPM Calendar.
